Ashley Batson

Director of Legislative Affairs

Ashley R. Batson, Esquire joined the Palmetto Policy Group in November of 2009.

As Director of Legislative Affairs, Batson is responsible for overseeing the firm's Department of Legislative Affairs and will actively represent the firm's clients before the South Carolina General Assembly and state agencies as a registered lobbyist.

A member of the South Carolina Bar, Batson is also admitted to practice before the United States District Court for the District of South Carolina. She is a member of the American Bar Association and the Richland County Bar Association.

Prior to joining The Palmetto Policy Group, Batson worked as a litigation attorney in Columbia, South Carolina. She also served as a law clerk for United States District Court Judge G. Ross Anderson, Jr. of the District of South Carolina.

Her political background includes interning for former U.S. Congressman Lindsey Graham and serving as a U.S. Senate Page to Senator Strom Thurmond.

In 2007, Batson earned a Juris Doctor, magna cum laude, from the Charleston School of Law. In 2003, she received a Bachelor of Arts in Communication Studies and Spanish, magna cum laude, from Clemson University.
