The Palmetto Policy Group understands the importance of voters. When legislators hear from enough of their constituents on a particular issue, it instantly gains stature. Over the years we have developed much experience in coalition building that creates momentum for issues inside and outside the Statehouse. Coalitions can be industry specific, such as the managed care coalition. They also can be broad based with members from diverse interest groups united in a common cause. Our strength lies in bringing these parties to the table, coalescing multiple views into one, and activating these constituencies to provide traction for an issue or individual piece of legislation.
The Palmetto Policy Group also establishes and manages issue-specific organizations. One such group is the South Carolina Alliance of Health Plans, a coalition composed of insurance companies and other companies with a vested interest in managed care issues. In addition to lobbying on behalf of the Alliance, The Palmetto Policy Group also conducts community relations, manages issues, and organizes sub-coalitions to initiate proactive change at the grassroots level. This service builds long-term support and goodwill for industries as well as issues.
